ROOF UNDERLAYMENT REPAIR

Underlayment sits beneath your tile or shingles and helps protect your home from water. Over time, heat and weather can wear it down, even when the roof surface still looks fine.

When we repair underlayment, we address the damaged area beneath the roof surface to help restore that protection.

What We Repair

WHAT UNDERLAYMENT DOES

Underlayment sits beneath your tile or shingles and helps protect your home from water. Over time, heat and weather can wear it down, even when the roof surface still looks fine.

When we repair underlayment, we address the damaged area beneath the roof surface to help restore that protection.

SIGNS YOUR UNDERLAYMENT MAY NEED REPAIR

Underlayment damage isn’t always obvious from the ground, but there are clues. Water stains on ceilings or walls, especially after monsoon storms. Tiles that slip or crack repeatedly in the same area. Shingles that curl or lose granules faster than they should. An older roof that’s never had the underlayment checked.

If your roof is 15 to 20 years old or older, the underlayment has been working hard the whole time. It’s worth having it inspected before the next heavy rain season.

TILE ROOF UNDERLAYMENT REPAIR

Tile is durable, but it’s also porous. Water runs under and between tiles, which means the underlayment beneath them handles most of the waterproofing. In older homes, that underlayment can crack, dry out, or pull away from the roof deck after years of Arizona heat.

We lift the affected tiles, repair or replace the underlayment beneath them, and set the tiles back securely. The repair is targeted to the problem area, so you get a watertight barrier without touching the rest of a healthy roof.

SHINGLE ROOF UNDERLAYMENT REPAIR

On shingle roofs, underlayment acts as a second line of defense against water that gets past the shingles, whether from wind-driven rain, worn shingles, or aging seals around penetrations. When shingles are removed for leak repair and the underlayment underneath is damaged, patching the shingles alone won’t hold up.

We check the underlayment whenever we repair a shingle roof leak. If it’s compromised, we repair it as part of the job, so the fix addresses the full path water can take into your home.
